About Ben Shaw

Ben Shaw was a much loved and intelligent 15-year-old, who was passionate about life and helping. In September 2017, while working out at his local PCYC gym, Ben's life was suddenly cut short.
So many amazing stories emerged following Ben's accident. They warmed the hearts of anyone who knew him and for those who didn't know him, many now want to know more. Ben’s reputation preceded him and he was described as being kind, generous and quick to give of his time and his possessions to those around him. He was a spirited young man, with a ‘glass half full’ attitude and an energy that
would light up the room when he walked in.
Ben was also a typical teenager, fun loving and cheeky with a wicked sense of humour. He didn’t give up easily and was a strong character - a born leader with an inner drive to change the world. He continually questioned things, always looking for a different, better and more efficient way of achieving the outcome he wanted . People trusted and confided in him and you always knew he had your back.

In just a few short years this special young man was able to play a very personal role in the lives of so many individuals he crossed paths with. His legacy will live on long into the future.

The BENefit Team are a group of people who are keeping Ben Shaw and his legacy front of mind. We do this through our activities, conversations and community philanthropy. Everything we do is about never letting Ben be forgotten and forging his values through our activities.

Ben was passionate about life. He loved to laugh, give and love. We know through his legacy that even the smallest acts of kindness can often make the biggest difference.

In 15 short years, and still today, this beautiful young man was able to make his mark on the world and have a significant impact in the lives of others.
